James Altucher's How To Go From $0 To $1,000,000 In Two Years

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about how this was the year you had to quit your job. I gave the reasons why. It wasn’t a gung-ho “you have to be an entrepreneur” article. It was more: bad shit is happening in the corporate world and bit by bit you’re going to feel the urge to quit.

Correctly, many people asked, “Well, what’s next? What should I do?”

I’ve begun asking people who did it. What did they do? How do you quit your job and basically, make a million dollars?

Running After Money

By Austin Imoru

Money making in developing countries is all about survival not about living. It is a myth around here that you should lay hands on money anyhow you can. Once the money is in your hands no one ask questions. All hails to the one who has money. It is part of the culture in most part of our country that money is everything. Without it you are finished. Without it you are nothing.

I have often wondered why we are so desperate after money. And why we run after money the way we do. I was more puzzled when I found out that we are not even desperate to have money because we want to but for one stupid reason or the other. Somehow because of the situation of the society, we labour for money to the satisfaction of others. Most often it is largely to demonstrate our ego. For cheap reasons as to be accepted by the society and even for peer competition.

Interview with Warren Buffett

Interview with Yahoo Finance
Yahoo! Finance: How did you get involved in the Secret Millionaires Club?

Warren Buffett: My friend Andy Heyward, who is a producer of kids entertainment, and I came up with the idea to help educate kids about financial matters. I thought the idea of using the power of cartoon characters to carry a message was a good one, as is  teaching financial lessons at an age when it can help them.

YF: What does the term "Secret Millionaires Club" refer to?

WB: In the pilot episode, a group of kids come together to save their local youth center. In the process, they come across a valuable baseball card which they sell to save their youth center. They ask my help to help them understand and manage their money. In the process we form the Secret Millionaires Club, and have lots of fun adventures together learning about money and business.

Raising Capital for your Business

By Austin Imoru

The power to raise capital for your dream is a business plan. Get a good tantalising business plan with 5 to 10 years prospects and you will attract ambition investors in the country. Start your search of investors from close relatives, friends and wealthy friends close to you who could easily believe in your dream, since to them a young person with dreams is some kind of a promising future turned loose. The cool thing about investors everywhere is that each time they see young people with good ideas, they view them with avid interest. Largely because they don’t know whether the man with the idea will turn out like Bill Gates or another hungry man.

HOW TO GET CAPITAL WITHOUT COLLATERAL

As a matter of fact, the subject of finance is very serious most especially in Nigeria where more meant for small and medium enterprises are been kept in the vaults of bank untouched and unused for the purpose they are meant for. It is on this note, I will share three secrets with you to get loan without collateral.
  1. FAMILY AND FRIENDS: It is very easier for family member sand friends to give you 50 naira compare to when you ask for 1000 naira. All you have to do is draw up a list of those people you know can part with little amount of money without any side comments and ask them for little favour.
  2. TRADE YOUR GIFT: Your God given talent is your best way to get loan without collateral. Every person has a divine talent from God. Start to translate that gift to making money. For instance, if you know how to sing, why not sing in churches or birthday parties and collect a token of appreciation.

Failing into Success

What if I tell you that failure is a training course for success? What if I say that I have first hand experience and also in all my research, I have come to realise that those who failed greatly ended up to have succeed greatly in life? I want you to understand that “It is a blessing to have failed once in life. For every failure helps trigger off lines of successes.” Failure is not a curse; it is a blessing, as long as you learn how to manage the lessons learnt in failure. Like great minds in the past once said, “every time you fall, make sure you pick up something.” I advice you to pick up experience, learn how not to fail by failing. Failure anytime, anywhere is a course, study it and achieve outstanding success.

I believe failure is a training ground for all who have adventure at heart. Wise men never accept failure as defeat, for they believe there are always lessons to learn from a very great fall. I know that lessons learnt from failure help make decisions that help make great success possible. Sure enough in every labour there is profit. Even if you fail in your labour, there is still profit as long as you learn from the failed labour. Failure is only a question of attitude.
